Be a Father on Dad’s day …. give yourself a present …
by Coral Atlas
For me Father’s day means doing something for my children …. being a Dad … and doing something I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed … making my kids smile and surprising them.
I don’t want to be a target for corporate marketers ….. but we have little choice … and the kids really need every penny they can save for that down payment on a car or a home …. and in these times even food or health care or a safety net in case of unemployment.
The meaning of being a Father or Mother is lost in all the commercial hype. Thoughtfulness is all that’s wanted and needed … nothing more.
That’s what life is about today …. a time for we Dad’s to step up and take action.
We are over the hump .. but not over the hill …. money becomes much less important than life as we grow older … we realize money can’t buy us the things we cherish most. But the youngsters still have to learn the importance and value of thoughtfulness.
The surprise and appreciation of an unexpected gift to your child is much more valuable and powerful than the gift itself …..
Imagine the look on your children’s faces when they are handed a present on Fathers day …..
I can’t thing of any better present to give my self on Father’s day!
